Single species analysis

Precision monitoring for priority species.

A targeted single species approach provides the most sensitive application of eDNA analysis. It is the best method for detecting rare and endangered species, as well as for the early detection of non-native species before they become established. DNA obtained is quantifiable and can be analysed in relation to environmental variables such as habitat quality metrics.

One species

Common species we work with are shown above, get in touch if your species of interest isn't shown as we can design and validate new methods in house.

Sterile sample kit

Our single use sampling kits are designed to be lightweight and easy to use. Samples will be preserved at room temperature for up to six months.

Each additional species

Up to three species per sample.

Electric pump hire

Hire our electric pump to speed up fieldwork and cut costs. Each hire includes a sample filter and reduces single-use plastic. Suitable for aquatic samples only. Minimum order 20 samples.

Pricing

Our pricing follows a tiered model. As project size increases, the cost per sample decreases. Tiered pricing begins at 50 or more samples and reduces again for projects over 200 samples.

Projects with < 50 samples:

We include free field controls and laboratory controls in all of our surveys to ensure your data is robust and publication ready - read more here.

Our standard qPCR analysis turnaround time is 2 weeks from receipt of samples, and expedited service is available on request.

As standard we will map your results and carry out correlation analysis with any of the metadata you provide us (e.g. water chemistry, volume filtered, habitat characteristics etc.)

Additional modelling can be included in your results delivery upon request. This could include occupancy modelling, species distribution modelling or habitat suitability modelling.

What we deliver

Primer design service

We are specialists in primers design and validation. If there is no available validated primer for your species we will work with you to achieve your project aims. Depending on the availability of reference DNA, primers can be designed, tested and validated in as little as two weeks.
